Tropical Eye Makeup Look

Hey!

So for my birthday, I got the Morphe 35B Colour Burst Eyeshadow Palette (review coming soon) which is soooo colourful! Definitely the most vibrant palette I’ve set my eyes on! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and have a play with the colours.

Vibrant Purple Halo Eye Look

Beauty, Cruelty free beauty, cruelty free makeup

Hey huns!

Today I’m back with another halo eye look and boy, oh boy am I happy with the way this turned out! It just shows that practice really is the key to improving your makeup skills. I’m very proud of this halo eye look as I’ve only done them a few times; I decided to take a bit longer than usual on my eye makeup today with blending and placement of the eyeshadows. So yeah, I’m pleased with the finished result!

I wanted to go for a really bold eye. Today’s inspo comes from an MUA I’ve always loved and I’m obsessed with the looks he posts on Instagram. @mmmmitchell is the makeup king! I can’t even begin to explain how talented he is. I looove how colourful he makes his eyeshadow looks, they’re so extra and just so out there! I wanted something bright like the makeup he does so went for this look. This eye makeup is so vibrant and colourful, it’s fab! I really want to try and start experimenting with more colour in my makeup looks. A brown smokey eye is pretty don’t get me wrong, and it’s a great go-to look but isn’t a pop of colour just waaaay more interesting?! Yes, yes it is.

Eyes

Let me just say, this look took a hella’ lot of blending! Totally worth it though. I tried to pack on the colour more in this look and blend it altogether in teeny weeny circular motions, I find the shadows are more distinguished this way and are less likely to merge into a blob of colour.

For this look, I used the Magic Palette by Juvias Place , the Tarte Tartiest Pro Amazonian Clay Palette and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette.

Transition – Kogi (Juvias Place)

Crease – No Filter (Tarte) & Ife (Juvias Place)

Outer Corner and Inner Corner – Ife

Lid (Halo) – Vermeer (ABH) for centre of Halo & Kogi blended into sides

Highlighting Inner Corner – Vermeer

Bottom Lash Line – No Filter & Ife

Lips

I’m wearing the beaut Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Androgyny on my lips.

Other Makeup I’m Wearing:

Primer: NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer

Foundation: Tarte Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation in Light – Medium Honey

Concealer: Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Fair Neutral

Contour: Too Faced Cocoa Contour

Powder: RCMA No Colour Powder

Eyebrows: Sleek Makeup Eyebrow Kit in Dark & NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel

Highlighter: Iconic London Illuminator in Original

Mascara: Kiko Luxurious Lashes Waterproof Mascara

Eyeliner: NYX Matte Liquid Liner in Black & Wet n Wild Color Icon Kohl Liner in You’re So White!

Setting Spray: Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Peach Setting Spray

False Eyelashes: LA Splash Dauntless Lashes Extra

Thanks for reading lovelies and I hope you enjoyed this look

The Ordinary Coverage Foundation Review

Beauty, cruelty free makeup

Hey everyone,

I haven’t done a product review in a while so I thought it was about time to do one! A friend recommended The Ordinary Coverage Foundation to me the other week after I commented on how flawless her skin was looking. Aswell as using a few of the Ordinary’s skin care products, she told me about this foundation. At just £5.90, how could I say no to trying it out?! I’d heard of this brand before but never really looked into it and when I researched it, I discovered it was vegan as well as being cruelty free… bonus!

The Packaging

The bottle itself is pretty simple, nothing fancy. It has a matte black pump which is ideal as it makes it easier to measure the amount of product you’re using. The bottle is the standard 30ml amount but it does look tiny compared to other foundations I own! This isn’t a bad thing though; it makes it easier to travel with and if for any reason you needed it when you were out, it would fit nicely in your handbag.

The Product

I bought the shade 1.1N as I have fair skin with neutral undertones. The brands shade range varies from very pale to deep skin tones with 21 shades of foundation. The product claims to be full coverage so with it being such a low price, I was excited to see for myself.

A swatch of 1.1N

When dispensing a pump of the foundation on my hand, I found that the formulas consistency was somewhere in the middle of not being too thick but not watery either. I first used 3 pumps of foundation for my face; a pump on my forehead and one pump on each of my cheeks. Taking my Tarte Foundation Brush, I started to blend the product all over and into my skin. Once blended in, I realised that one layer wasn’t really full coverage, more medium I’d say, so I put another pump on my brush and applied it to my face. After putting a tad more of the product on, it did make a bit a difference so I would say this is a rather buildable foundation which is great!

This photo was taken this morning at about 10:30am after applying the foundation.

However, after wearing it for a couple of hours, it did cling to the dry patches on my nose so I was disappointed at that. I have horrendously dry skin on my nose and can struggle sometimes to find foundations that don’t make it look worse. To be honest, this foundation isn’t the best for dry skin as it made that particular area look flakey after just 1-2 hours of wear as it started breaking up around my nose. Its now 6pm and it looks fab everywhere else where my skin tends to get oily, but the dry areas on my nose are emphasised more.

The foundation after 2 1/2 hours of wear. You can see where it has clung to the dry patches around my nose.

I would say this foundation has a semi- matte finish; I found it definitely needs setting otherwise it doesn’t really dry and can transfer if not set with a powder.

The Verdict

Overall, I am in two minds with this foundation. In my opinion, I’d say it’s more suitable for normal – oily skin types as it does cling to dry patches however, I probably would still use it in the future, I’d just have to smother my nose in facial oil before applying it. I was happy with the skin match and thought it was pretty much perfect to my skin tone and I think the product is good for the price but it’s not as full coverage as my other foundations.

Have you guys tried this foundation? If so, let me know what you think of it.

Rainbow Easter Makeup Look 🐣

Beauty, cruelty free makeup

I hope you all had a lovely Easter and are full of chocolate! I know I am…

Yesterday I decided to go for a bold and colourful eye look, using pastel shadows to go with the theme of Easter. Here, I’m serving you some rainbow realness.

I enjoyed doing this look as I love experimenting with bright colours.

Eyes

For this look, I mainly used the Bh Cosmetics Foil Eyes Palette which is surprisingly fab for its price and contains an array of foil finish, pastel colours. Unfortunately, the palette’s shadows have no names which sucks a little as it makes it difficult to tell you which shades I used but hey ho. I also used the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette for my transition and crease shades. Just to make this look that little bit more extra, I added some of the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liner in Grind to my crease. This glitter is B-E-A-UTIFUL!

Transition – Pukey

Crease and Lower Lash Line – Creamsicle

Lid – 4 shades from the Bh Palette (light pink, purple, blue and green)

Lips

I used a mix of the shades Honey and Perf from my Tarte Limitless Lippies Creamy Matte Lip Paint Set.

Other Products I’m Wearing

Primer: Nip + Fab Viper Venom Micro Blur

Concealer: Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define in C1

Contour: Too Faced Cocoa Contour

Powder: Kat Von D ‘Lock It’ Setting Powder in Translucent

Eyebrows: Sleek Makeup Eyebrow Kit in Dark & NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel

Highlighter: The Balm Mary Lou Manizer

Setting Spray: Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Peach Setting Spray

Mascara: Kiko Luxurious Lashes Waterproof Mascara

Eyeliner: Nyx Vinyl Liquid Liner
